Antique French Art Nouveau .800 silver figural dress cane / parasol handle. The base appears to be rosewood, finished with an elegant silver handle. Perched on top is the charming form of a bird, beautifully rendered with fine detailing. Hallmarked with the French head of the wild boar, in use from 1838 to indicate a silver content of .800/1000. Bearing a maker's mark for silversmith Eugène Lefebvre, active 1896-1910, who commenced trade at 14 bis rue des Minimes, Paris. In overall good condition for age and type. Some tiny dimples from use. There is a small spit in the silver between the bird's feet and can be seen in the pictures. Measures 13 7/8" total length.
