Outstanding antique 19th century Hutschenreuther porcelain portrait plaque. A beautiful KPM quality hand painted miniature portrait of a semi-nude beauty, her shoulders framed by a cascade of flowing chestnut hair, gowned in blue and diaphanous gossamer draped across her bosom. After the painting entitled Épanouissement or Erblühen (Full Bloom or Blooming) by the famed French/Italian genre painter and illustrator Angelo Asti (1847 - 1903), whose romantic portraitures of beautiful women were wildly popular at the turn of the century. Signed to the lower left corner Wagner. Bears the impressed Hutschenreuther CMHR mark in a circle mark, which was used between 1857 and 1899. Size code 107. Faintly stamped Germany. Housed in an opulent gilt wood frame. In overall good antique condition. The frame with some losses to the gesso. Frame measures 13" x 11 1/8". Plaque measures 5 7/8" x 4".
