Charming French Limoges 7.5" porcelain plate hand painted with a lovely spray of blue cornflowers and pink roses, garlands of leaves and berries, blue banding and gilt accents. The rim is finished with a sterling silver mount, bearing French hallmarks and crafted by the firm of Edmond Tétard. In very good condition with no chips or cracks. Hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark in use from 1838, indicating a silver content of 950/1000 (of 95% pure silver and higher than the standard .925 for sterling). Bearing makers marks for Tétard frères, active from 1903 at 4 rue Béranger in Paris. The plate is marked in green with Limoges PL France for La Porcelaine Limousine, circa 1905 to late 1930s. Also marked in red with joined initials TF for Tetard Frères.
