French Limoges porcelain 9" plate with sterling silver rim. Decorated in a lovely chinoiserie style pattern that includes a pair of birds surrounded by colorful flowers and intricate floral banding. Finished with a sterling silver rim bearing French hallmarks and crafted by the firm of Edmond Tétard. In very good condition for age and type, no chips or cracks to the porcelain. Some light to normal wear to the pattern as expected from use. A tiny dimple or two on the silver rim. Hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark in use from 1838 - 1919, indicating a silver content of 950/1000 (of 95% pure silver and higher than the standard .925 for sterling). Bearing makers marks for Tétard frères, active from 1903 at 4 rue Béranger in Paris. The plate is marked in green with Limoges PL France for La Porcelaine Limousine, circa 1905 to late 1930s. Also marked in red with joined initials TF for Tetard Frères.
