Antique 19th century French .800 silver and kiln-fired enamel scent or perfume. Featuring a charming scene of a child or putti holding flowers. The background consists of a serene mountain landscape with a blue sky above. To the top of the lid is a cluster of colorful flowers and the base is decorated in green foliage. The lid opens to a gilt vermeil interior, fitted with a small glass stopper. Features hinged silver mounts bearing hallmarks of the French .800/1000 standard mark in the form of a wild boar's head. In use from 1838, the boar's head mark was indicative of the Paris assay office and commonly used on small items. In overall good antique condition with general wear. Enamel is in good condition with no damage or repairs. Small chip to the top of the glass stopper. Measures 2" length x 5/8" diameter base.
