A gorgeous French 18K yellow gold large sculptural brooch decorated with diamonds. Crafted from intricate gold wire work forming a swirled motif. Mounted with nine prong set round single cut diamonds, of VS to SI clarity, E-G color and an estimate total weight of .29ct. Trombone clasp. Hallmarked with the French 18K gold standard mark in a form of an eagle's head in use in France from 1838. Also bearing a goldsmith maker's marks, appears to be initials R.A. for goldsmith Robert Augis, active 1924-1977 at 40 rue des Martyrs in Paris. In good condition. Weighs 11.40 grams. Very nice size, perfect for a jacket or blazer. Measures 2 7/16" length.
