Large antique 19th century French beveled glass jewelry box or display vitrine case. Featuring gilt bronze or brass framework encasing five thick beveled glass panels within prong settings. The glass is beautifully enhanced with engraved foliage. Lovely engraved foliage adorns the glass panels with a charming motif of a bird on the lid. The hinged lid opens to reveal a tufted and tucked satin lining to the interior. A patterned frieze of scrolling leaves and florals along the mounts, accented with rosettes on the corners. Resting on four ornate casted feet stylized in Louis XVI/Rococo scrolled foliate and rocailles. In overall good antique condition with general wear. The interior lining shows its age. No chips or cracks to the beveled glass panels, some scratches commensurate with use and age. There is a slight gap at the close of the lid as shown. Measures 9 1/2" length x 3 1/2" width, stands 4 1/2" height.
