A delightful antique mid-1800s French Napoleon III era whimsical table top cave à liqueur, liquor cabaret or caddy. Featuring a finely detailed figure of an elephant. Carrying a liquor service comprising of a barrel shaped decanter and six (6) petite glasses or mugs, all of old mouth blown glass in a stunning electric blue color enhanced with hand painted enamel. The barrel is complete with a movable handle on top, spigot and glass stopper. The figure is casted of white metal, régule, and beautifully crafted with realistic details. The body strapped with a brass sash surmounted with framework and hooks enhanced with a bamboo motif. Stands on a brass plinth base, with the added touch of a lovely floral medallion applique in the center there. Such charming details to this little éléphant. In overall good antique condition with general wear. No chips or cracks to the glassware. Three glasses differ as shown. There is a painted over chip on the rim opening on top of the barrel as shown. Measures 6 3/4" length x about 6 3/4" wide x 8 5/8" tall to the stopper.
