Fine pair of antique French sterling silver mounted crystal bud vases. Of classic slender baluster form and crafted from beautiful quality crystal. Enhanced with exquisite acid etched cameo decoration. The decor comprises of stunning Art Nouveau foliage rising from the base and topped by a stylized collar. Mounted with a sterling silver rim and pedestal base. Both vases are hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark, depicting the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her to denote a silver content of 950/1000 (of 95% pure silver and a higher finesse than .925 sterling). Also bearing maker's marks for Parisian silversmith Adrienne Seurette, active 1905 at 20 rue de Turbigo, Paris. In good condition. Vases measure 6 3/8" tall x 1 3/4" diameter base. The pair are housed in the original presentation box with cream satin and velvet lined fitted interior. Box shows general wear and measures 8 1/4" x 6" x 2 3/8" tall.
