A wonderful antique Bohemian Moser glass vanity dresser jar, snuff or patch box. Crafted from hand blown glass in a stunning electric blue. Hand painted with lovely scene of a dragonfly and flower done in colorful raised enamel with gilt accents. The lower section embellished by a ring of white enameled floral forms. Hinged brass mounts circle the box with an S shaped clasp at the center. In good condition with general wear. There is a busted air-bubble to the interior. Measures 2 1/8" width x 1 1/8" height.
Patch boxes were often used to store small fake beauty spots, very fashionable between the 18th and 19th centuries. These bright colorful boxes were often given as a sign of love or friendship, and were very decorative. What a perfect gift or addition to any collection!
