An antique American Brilliant Period cut glass and sterling silver liquor / whisky flask by S. Cottle & Company of New York and dates to around 1890-1900. The glass flask is beautifully cut with hobstar designs with fringe, fans and fine diamond designs. The sterling mounts consist of a lid, with cork lined interior, patterned with ornate floral form repousse, threaded collar and detachable drinking cup attached to the base. Bearing marks for S. Cottle & Company of New York, NY, active from 1877-1920. Also marked STERLING.
In overall good condition with general wear and surface scratches from handling and use. The cut glass body of the flask is in very good condition. I do not see any chips or cracks to the glass. There are scratches to the base from years of removing/reattaching of the sterling cup. A small indention to the upper side edge of the lid and a tiny dimple or two. There are a few shallow indentations to the drinking cup from years of use. Measures 4 5/8" length x 2 1/2" width.
