Jonga Cong money, made of tall waisted bronze gong with pointing end, made by the Jonga smiths as a badge of office for regents and judges. Also used as currency for major transactions. There are records showing that palm-oil, slaves and wives were purchased for a certain number of gongs. Origin: DR of Congo. Late 19th century. Excellent condition. Price is for each.
