Watercolor representing a landscape from the Barbizon school. This school of painting was established by a group of naturalist landscape painters in the 1840s and 1850s. They worked in the vicinity of Barbizon, a village on the outskirts of the Forest of Fontainebleau, Southeast of Paris. It is signed F.H.M.
Dated circa 1850-1900. Excellent condition. It has been framed with a delicate gold and pink frame, to respect the delicate colors of the watercolor, and has been covered with an excellent quality glass filtering UV and reflection.
