Elegant white reticulated porcelain circular footed compote / tazza centerpiece / console bow / basket with gilt accents. Perfect to fill with fruit on a dining room table, sideboard, buffet, entrance console or sofa table. It is marked on the underside with the VA (Vista Alegre) mark. Vista Alegre was founded in the early 1800's by Portuguese industrialist Pinto Basto. Shortly after, it was granted the title of Royal Factory in recognition of its artistic and fine quality wares. Vista Alegre also manufactured pieces for Mottahedeh, a recognized leader in luxury ceramic decorative items and historic designs. Mottahedeh holds the license to many classic designs based on Chinese Export and early European objects and has made pieces for the White House, the State Department and Diplomatic Corps as well as several museums.
