Beautiful Hutschenreuther bust-length portrait plate of a young woman signed Wagner. Named "La Gitana" (The Gipsy), she is portrayed in profile, with long, flowing auburn hair, a small red cap and draped in gold. It is clearly marked on the underside with an impressed crowned shield Hutschenreuther mark. The shield has initials CM HR for Carolus Magnus Hutschenreuther (1794-1845) founder of Hutschenreuther porcelain. During the late 19th and early 20th century, Hutschenreuther and KPM were primary providers of porcelain plaques and plates for porcelain decorating studios. In very good condition as shown, it looks as though it has been in a cabinet or in storage all these years. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
