Antique Arts & Crafts period 1901 Dominick & Haff American Armorial sterling silver mug. It has a slightly tapered body of simple lines, an oversize D shaped handle with lovely detailing on its ends. The mug is marked on the underside as follows:

Dominick & Haff was a maker of very fine quality silver hollowware and flatware active between 1868 and 1928 in New York city. J.E. Caldwell & Co was a jeweler and high end silver and porcelain Philadelphia retailer founded in 1839. The mug has a beautiful coat of arms on the front portraying a deer above a shield, the motto MENS CONSCIA RECTIS and the name Mary Dobson Norris. Genealogy records show that the owner of the mug was most likely the daughter of Maria Seville Dobson Norris (1868-1938) and John Cushing Norris (1856-1953) from Philadelphia. In very good used condition with minor imperfections as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
