Charming French hand colored engraving depicting a traditional Normandy costume entitled: "Costume de Bolbec" engraved by Georges-Jacques Gatine (1773-1824) after a design by Louis-Marie Lanté (1789-1871) .

Louis-Marie Lanté (1789-1871) was a prolific French watercolor painter whose work was exhibited in the Paris Salon. Georges Jacques Gatine worked closely with Lanté for the Journal des Dames et des Modes. Lanté also designed the plates for several collections of traditional costumes including those of the Normandy region of France (Costumes de femmes du pays de Caux, et de plusieurs autres parties de l’ancienne province de Normandie.) of which "Costume de Bolbec" is one example.

In very good used condition with minor toning consistent with age as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
