Charming French schoolboy sculpture / figure / lamp base entitled Sortie d'Ecole (school exit). It shows a young school boy drinking water from a fountain, his books tossed on the ground. The fountain's column has the coat of arms of Paris on two sides: a sailboat and the Paris motto in Latin FLUCTUAT NEC MERGITUR ("It floats and doesn't sink"). It is signed on the base Juan Terville and marked with a contrasting circular seal inscribed: Fabrication Francaise, Paris, Made in France. Juan Terville was a late 19th / early 20th French school sculptor. It stands on a green marble base. Perfect to decorate a boy's bedroom or similar. In good used condition with patina wear and minor imperfections as shown. Shade is for display purposes only and not included but available if desired and shipped separately.
