Lovely set of four antique Sarreguemines faience historic plates depicting scenes of the French Revolution of 1789 in patriotic red and blue on an off white ground. They are marked on the underside with the circa 1875 to 1900 Sarreguemines mark with overprint of letters U& C; they also have various impressed codes and painted codes some more legible than others. All plates are numbered and inscribed on the bottom front of each plate, below the images, as follows:
