Elegant sterling silver tongs with Rococo-style shell decoration on each side and spoon shaped ends meant for serving lump sugar. It is clearly marked inside (top curve interior) with 1) the initials R.S inside an oval shape, the mark registered in 1891 by London silversmith Robert Stebbings; 2) the lion head representing the city of London; 3) the Lion Passant, the British .925 sterling silver standard mark; and 4) a capital T in a shield, the date letter mark for the year 1894. This is a large and substantial piece weighing slightly over 2 ounces unpacked. In very good used condition as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
