Modern Thorkild Olsen Danish Royal Copenhagen Tunna pattern large lidded terrine with a ribbed white texture and gilt accents. Bowl and lid are inscribed on the underside with design numbers 1277 / 14093 and marked Royal Copenhagen Denmark. The bowl is dated 1958 and the lid 1959 (a bar under the letter M and letter A in DENMARK respectively). A design by Thorkild Olsen (1890- 1973) a noted Danish painter and ceramist known for his works in faience and porcelain. His works are part of the collections the Royal Copenhagen Museum, the Art Industry Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris and the Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza, Italy.
