Lovely Vienna Jugendstil silver mounted tall, lidded crystal carafe with stylized handle and modern design. The glass is vertically striated and is decorated near the bottom with two parallel lines with loose knot shapes in relief. The silver mount is marked with initials VCD, the hallmark of Vincenz Carl Dub (1852 - 1922) , an Austrian silversmith and son of Thomas Dub (1811-1889) who established the business in 1838. It is also marked with the Dianakopf or Diana's head mark used in the 1867 to 1922 period indicating a silver fineness of .800. In very good used condition with minor imperfections as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
Measurements: 11 13/16" tall including lid finial (30 cm) by 4 15/16" (12.5 cm) diameter at base approximately.
