Beautiful and hard to find English Brown Westhead Moore H1653 porcelain bowl decorated with raised gilt and silver flying birds, blossoms and ornamental border. It is signed on the underside with a stamped mark that integrates the maker and retailer names and reads as follows:

Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. were makers of fine earthenware and porcelain active circa 1862-1904 at Cauldon Place, Hanley, England. Davis Collamore & Co. was an upscale Manhattan importer of porcelain and glass established in 1842. An interesting and extensive description of Davis Collamore & Co. appears in page 277 of the 1884 edition of New York's Great Industries (including leading Merchants and Manufacturers). In very good used condition as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
