Outstanding 1799 Battle of the Nile aquatint by Robert Dodd. One of a set of three listed separately depicting different times of the engagement. Inscriptions reads as follows:
The Battle of the Nile, Near Midnight;
To the Right honorable LORD NELSON of the NILE, the several Captains, the Officers, Seamen and Marines under his Command; This Plate Engraved in Commemoration of their GLORIOUS VICTORY on the 1st of August of 1798, is, with due respect and admiration for their Intrepid Conduct on that ever Memorable Day, humbly Inscribed By their Obedient Servant, Rob. Dodd.

Matted and unframed, in very good used condition with minor imperfections consistent with age and use; toning, and imperfections to mats as shown. Additional photos available upon request.
