Set of three 1799 Battle of the Nile aquatints by Robert Dodd at different times of the engagement:
The Battle of the Nile, Attack at Sunset;
The Battle of the Nile, Near Midnight;
The Battle of the Nile, On the Ensuing Morning.
Inscription common to all three aquatints reads as follows:
To the Right honorable LORD NELSON of the NILE, the several Captains, the Officers, Seamen and Marines under his Command; This Plate Engraved in Commemoration of their GLORIOUS VICTORY on the 1st of August of 1798, is, with due respect and admiration for their Intrepid Conduct on that ever Memorable Day, humbly Inscribed By their Obedient Servant, Rob. Dodd.
