Striking Vienna style porcelain gilt decorated on a cobalt blue ground portrait plate marked on the underside with a blue beehive mark, an impressed Carlsbad in upper case letters and a number 2. It is decorated in a central medallion with a classical scene of three figures including a young man dressed in a toga crowning a young woman with laurel leaves. The scene is surrounded by wide jeweled gilt bands on cobalt blue. We have seen similar items described as late 19th / early 20th Century. Carlsbad is a mark used on porcelain made by several factories in the Austria / Bohemia region. In good used condition with wear to gilt as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
