Large Japanese ceramic sake barrel / keg / jar with blue characters and flowers in different shades of pink and green leaves. It has a raised braided decor resembling chord imitating the wooden kegs tied with chords used to transport sake in earlier times. It has two side loops and is marked on the underside with Kanji characters meaning "deer" enclosed in a diamond shape. Original sake brand unknown, possibly the sake brewery Harushika (Spring Deer). This is a heavy and substantial piece weighing about 13 lbs unpacked. In very good used condition with irregularities from the time of manufacture and minor imperfections as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
