Elegant English Queen Anne style burr walnut armchair of ample size and proportions. It has carved scallop shell decor on leg knees and end of arm rests, typical of the Queen Anne period. It's tapestry upholstered back is uncommon, most Queen Anne armchairs have an open back. We have seen similar examples with needlework backs and contrasting velvet seats described as Georgian. Its raised on beautifully curved cabriole legs ending in padded feet. Probably made in the late Victorian period or early 1900's. In good used condition with wear and imperfections to upholstery as shown. Local pickup can be arranged.
