Elegant French cigar humidor container jar made by Bernardaud for Geneva, Switzerland Gerard Pere et Fils, known as the Tiffany's of tobacconists. It is decorated with an old, island tobacco plantation scene, most likely Cuba on the front and a poem on the back. Inscriptions on lid and body of jar read as follows:

We've seen similar Limoges humidors made for Gerard Pere et Fils decorated with different themes described as having a capacity to store 25 robustos or 30 petit coronas or up to 40 très petit coronas. Bottom of jar has removable wood liner and lid is lined with cork to keep jar airtight and cigar tobacco moist. The jar's underside is marked Bernardaud Limoges France as shown. This is a heavy and substantial piece weighing 3 lbs unpacked. In very good used condition as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
