Finely detailed original black and white pencil drawing portraying a young woman in profile, with a simplicity, meticulousness and timelessness reminiscent of Renaissance portraits. It is inscribed in pencil on the upper left by American painter and illustrator WILLIAM FULLER CURTIS and dated in Roman numerals MCMVIII (1908). William Fuller Curtis (1873–1938) was born in New York and studied in Paris under French Romantic painter Jules-Joseph Lefebvre ((1834 - 1911), known for his portraits of young, beautiful and elegant women). William Fuller Curtis was active in the District of Columbia and known for his murals and illustrations. In very good used condition, paper mounted on board with overall toning as shown. Comes in a black painted wood frame, ready to display. Shipped professionally packed and fully insured with tracking number.
