Amazing antique Meiji Kutani gilt cup and saucer in the Thousand Faces / Scholars / Poets 1000 Faces pattern. The cup is made out of thin porcelain and decorated inside and out. Both pieces have a gilt and red centers, most likely Japanese Mon or emblem to identify a particular family. The saucer is signed on the underside with detailed, iron red, finely drawn Kanji characters. In very good condition as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
Measurements: Saucer: 5 7/16" diameter (13.8 cm); Cup: top bowl diameter 3 11/16" (9.3 cm) by 1 3/4" (4.4 cm) height approximately.
