Lovely Wedgwood antique Majolica sea shell and seaweed plate with a slight iridescent finish. It is decorated with various raised sea shells and seaweed on a basket weave pattern cream colored ground. The plate is marked on the underside as follows:
OOK (O for October, O for the potter's name and K for the year 1882). WEDGWOOD M 3054
The absence of the world ENGLAND on the underside tells us that this plate was made pre-1891. In very good used condition with fine crazing and toning to underside typical of majolica as shown. A similar themed Wedgwood majolica lobster plate is listed separately.
Measurements: 8 15/16" (23.7 cm) diameter approximately.
