Very nice Japanese early Kutani, finely painted iron red and gilt porcelain dish decorated with a hand-painted scene of a birds and a flowering shrub. It has a striking double border, the outer one with gilt figures alternating with floral medallions on a red ground; the narrower, inner border consists of a red scroll pattern and eight gilt crosses in a circle, most likely a Japanese family seal or mon. The underside of the plate is also decorated and marked with gilt characters in a red box. In very good used condition with minor wear to paint as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
