Pair of extraordinary German Nymphenburg all white porcelain equestrian / horse and rider figurines. They are superbly modeled, with amazing details, and are marked on the underside with the green underglaze Nymphenburg shield mark used in the 1910 to 1975 period as well as incised shield and model numbers. The lady portrayed in figurine N° 531 is Princess Margarethe Klementine von Thurn und Taxis (maiden name Archduchess Margarethe Klementine of Austria). The male figurine N° 362 is entitled Galloping Rider (Galoppierender Reiter) and is part of the Red Hunting series (Rote Jagd). The Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactury was established in the mid 1700's in Bavaria by Elector Max III Joseph of the House of Wittelsbach, one of the oldest Royal dynasties in Germany. King Ludwig II of Neuschwanstein Castle fame as well as Empress Elizabeth of Austria, better known as Sissi, were also of Wittelsbach lineage. In excellent condition as shown.
