Antique copper porringer with two Georgian copper coins, one on the handle (an 1813 Georgian Half Quiver from Essequebo and Demarary [known as Guyana today]) and another on the center of the bowl (an 1816 Ireland Edward Stephens Token). Inscriptions on the coins read as follows:
Handle coin: Front (profile of King George III): "GEORGIUS III D.G. REX"; Back: "COLONIES OF ESSEQUEBO & DEMARARY TOKEN - 1813"
Bowl Coin: Front (profile of Duke of Wellington, Arthur Richard Wellesley): "WELLINGTON & ERIN GO BRAGH"; Back: (image of crowned harp) "EDWD STEPHENS 1816" (refers to owner of private mint in Dublin who minted this token).
It is also marked under the handle A.J. Crawford Co. London, the name of an antiques retailer active in the early 1900's. Below the retailer name it has a letter N in a shield. In good used condition with wear to coins as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
