Lovely pair of hand colored lithographic prints in the style of medieval illuminated manuscripts illustrating the months of February and March. Important dates in each month are highlighted such as 'Ash Wednesday' and 'Mary Queen of Scots beheaded' in February and 'St. Patrick's' and 'Easter Sunday' in March. They are illustrated with delicately rendered scenes, the feasting preceding Lent of Shrove Tuesday in February and a couple pruning trees and carrying cut branches, a castle in the background, in March. February is topped by two fish representing Piscis and March by a ram representing Aries. They come matted and framed ready to display. In very good used condition with toning and minor imperfections to frames as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
