Elegant modern Swedish Strömbergshyttan blue / silver hue crystal decanter. It is marked on the underside Strömbergshyttan as shown. The glassworks was founded in 1876 under the name of Lindfors. In 1933, under the direction of the former head of Orrefours, Edward Stromberg, it changed its name to Strömbergshyttan (meaning Stromberg's blast furnace). Edward with his son Eric developed the blue / silver hue glass characteristic of Strömbergshyttan. The glassworks remained in the family until 1976 when it was sold to the Swedish art glass and crystal manufacturer Orrefours who closed it in 1979. This is a heavy and substantial piece. In very good used condition with minor imperfections. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
