Exquisite arrangement of enamel and gold plated metal, yellow, white, green and gilt flower, leaves and berries in a reticulated white gilt porcelain centerpiece. It is marked on the underside "Designed by Jane Hutcheson for The Gorham Company". This type of work is known as Fleurs des Siecles and was inspired by 17th and 18th century French Vincennes porcelain flowers. Jane Hutcheson first displayed her arrangements in the window of a Madison Avenue shop in New York City. Her work was discovered and Jane secured contract with Gorham. "Fleurs des Siecles" became one of their most successful gift lines of the 1970's and 80's. A gilt sterling basket design was developed for Cartier and a one of a kind arrangement of white camellias was specially made for Queen Elizabeth II and is part of the English Royal Collection (displayed in a reticulated white gilt porcelain centerpiece model like the one listed here). Please note measurements below as this is a large arrangement, not one of the tiny ones. In beautiful condition as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
