Large antique genre engraving entitled "The Cut Finger" after the painting by Scottish painter Sir David Wilkie. Inscription below the image reads as follows: PAINTED BY SIR DAVID WILKIE. THE CUT FINGER. David Wilkie (1785-1841) was a Scottish painter known for his genre scenes as well as the Visit of King George IV to Scotland portraying the King in dressed in kilts. Comes ready to display in a beautiful mahogany frame with gilt accents. Engraving is in good used condition with foxing in the dark areas, toning, spots and small tears near the margins that can be mostly concealed with a new mat. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
