Two antique Franz Josef Austro-Hungarian Empire medals. On the left a 1914 medal commemorating the War Welfare Office made out of looted weapon materials and, on the right, a 1898 medal suspended from its triangular folded ribbon celebrating the 50 years of Kaiser Franz Josef's reign (1848-1898). Both medals depict a uniformed bust of Franz Josef facing right on the front. The reverse of the larger one shows a winged Victory with a wreath on one hand and a branch on the other, three soldiers on the ground, two fighting a battle while the third is badly wounded. Approaching troops can be seen in the distance. The medals are inscribed as follows:
LEFT: FRANC IOS I R. Neuberger 1914 A. Hartig
