Stunning iridescent Loetz art glass vase with Secessionist silver overlay over a mandarin orange color ground with Medici decor in shades of metallic pink and blue. It has a circular base, bulbous body insinuating a double gourd and is pinched on all four sides of the upper half. It has a silver rimmed square mouth with rounded corners, round foot, polished pontil and is marked on the underside 2/410 (production number) and n. 737 (decor number) which is consistent with similar Loetz vases of the time. We have seen a similar silver overlay decor on another Loetz vase described as done by Austrian silversmith Max Schwartz, active at the same time Loetz made this type of vase. Silver has age patina but can be polished if desired. Price reduced due to damage, additional photos available. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
