Lovely Japanese early Kutani iron red and gilt pottery dish decorated with a hand-painted scene of a seated older man, possibly a priest, on a tatami holding a tea cup while a young attendant fans the flames under the tea pot. The underside of the plate is also decorated and marked on the underside with a Kutani mark used c. 1900's. This is a heavy and substantial piece. In very good used condition with minor wear to paint, small scratches and imperfections as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
