George Havell (Born 1799 Reading; married Mary Ann Hale 1825; died c. 1839 in India) was an English painter active in the 1826-1833 period. The Star was a 15th Century coaching inn in Oxford. Actual inn keepers of the time are recorded including Mrs Dupois (1823), Richard Staning (1830-1835), and Samuel Young Griffith (1839-1861). In good used condition with toning as shown.
