Elegant and rare pair of never wired Bouillotte gilt bronze table lamps. They stand on octagonal bronze bases and have black tole shades that can be adjusted, raised or lowered, on a central steel shaft ending on a bronze ring finial. Bouillotte lamps originated in 18th Century France. Originally made for candles, they were meant to be placed on round game tables to illuminate players during a card game by the same name. A compact, easy to place size perfect for a variety of decor styles from classic to contemporary. Comes with gilt bronze wicker cutter and snuffer and includes external wiring for electric. Candle covers are for display only but can be ordered separately. In very good used condition as shown. Shipped professionally packed, fully insured with tracking number.
