Beautiful red Chinese Sang de Boeuf / Oxblood / Flambe glazed pottery lamp base in the shape of a lidded ginger jar supported by a finely carved wood, apparently rosewood, base. Sang de Boeuf is the French name for the Langyao hong (Lang kiln red), a claret to brownish red glaze developed in China to decorate porcelain by incorporating copper during the firing process. To get a sense of its scale see the last photo showing the lamp in its current setting. Other items shown in the last photo are available under separate listings. In very good used condition with crazing and imperfections from the time of manufacture typical of this kind of pottery. Shipped professionally packed and fully insured with tracking number.
