Antique Chinese pith (or rice) paper painting of a group performing an elaborate ceremony in honor of Chinese General Guan Yu and later Deity, Guan Gong (Lord Guan). We recognize him by his characteristic red face, long beard and the green robe worn over his armor. Chinese characters are incorporated into the picture, inscribed in two different vessels, one on top of the altar table in the center and the other on a handled pot on the left foreground. Due to the fragility of pith paper we did not examine this out of the frame and all photographs were taken through the glass which explains any reflections. In very good used condition with light toning, foxing and minor border tears as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
