Extraordinary pair of English ceramic vases / urns decorated with a floral motif, apparently white cyclamen (also known as Persian Violet), in pate sur pate technique over a plum / light violet ground. They have simulated gilt ring handles, are numbered on the underside 5601 in hand painted script and have the impressed English Registry mark used in the 1868 to 1884 period. According to the code year in the registry mark, this design was registered in the year 1878. Below is the key to read the codes on these pieces:
IV = Ceramic Day = 30 Year (D) = 1878 Month (C) = January Bundle = 3
