Beautiful miniature portrait painting of a young Neapolitan boy after the original work by German 19th Century painter Gustav Karl Richter (1823 - 1884) entitled "Junger Neapolitaner" (Young Neapolitan). The boy is portrayed wearing an open neck shirt, a locket and earring and is painted on an unusual, round dome-shaped porcelain plaque. It is beautifully framed in a fine, antique, hand-cut and etched decorative bronze easel stand frame. Brass frame is unsigned but we have seen similar examples described as Gothic-style and several holding KPM porcelain plaques. Gustav Carl Ludwig Richter (1823-84) was a German school portrait painter active in 19th Century Berlin. He was known for his portraits of aristocratic beauties as well as orientalist subjects. In very good used condition with minor imperfections as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
