This is a vintage sterling silver charm bracelet filled with an assortment of French charms and many are rare and very hard to find. The bracelet is Victorian with paper clip links and measures 7 1/4" in length by 1/4" wide and has a working spring clasp closure; both tested as sterling silver. There are 21 charms attached of which all are sterling silver from the 1940s except one that is a 1960s charm. I will give you a few measurements of the charms to give you an idea of size. Unmarked charms with an asterisk have tested as sterling silver. The charms are as follows:
1- Worldwide Suitcase*, Paris - Berlin- London- Madrid - Roma and New York; it measures 1/2" long with the handle by less than 5/8" wide and has a hallmark 9K on the edge.
2- RARE- French* Mandolin Signed by Artist; measures about 1" in length.
3- French Bidet*.
4- RARE- Enamel Fleur de Lis Shield, marked STERLING 925.
5- RARE "AMOUR" - "PAZ" Key*.
6- Very RARE Enamel PARIS FOLLIES*, it measures slightly more than 3/4" long with the bail ring by 7/8" wide by 1/4" thick. There is some enamel loss and she is a little more risque'.
7- 1960's France Emblem Shield, faintly marked 800.
8- Venus Di Milo Statue now in Paris at the Louvre Museum and marked 925.
9- RARE- Masquerade Ballroom Mask, marked Sterling CTO.
10- RARE- French Pissotières Paris Street Toilet*; It has a vermeil overlay on the silver with Martini and Suze in blue and red enamel.
11- RARE Harlequin Clown Riding A Unicycle*, wheel moves.
12- RARE - Marie Antoinette, Queen of France- Stunning! This charm is marked 935 with a makers' hallmark. There is a picture of her shown in the last photo.
13- RARE- French Lyre; measures 1/2' long with the bail ring and marked STERLING.
14- French Poodle*, a solid charm measuring 7/8" long with the bail ring.
15- Pair of French Stiletto High Heel Shoes.
16- Scarce - Notre Dame De Paris Enamel Stained Glass Window*; one side has a vitreous glass enamel with a gold wash overlay, the back has the Cathedral and it has tested as sterling silver plated. The bail ring has worn down and you can see there is a tiny bit of a copper color. Not uncommon for silver plated items.
17- RARE - Frenchman Love Key; marked 835 for silver content. Perhaps a gesture for a good time. I have never seen one of these before!
18- Articulated French Can Can Dancers*; it measures 3/4" in length with the bail ring by 1/2" wide and has a lever in the back to move the legs.
19- RARE- Paris LeSacre Cathedral, tested as 835 silver.
20- Eiffel Tower*.
21- Tour de France Bicyclist*.
