Gorgeous Antique Sterling Silver Cup Holder with Two Cherubs. The silver cup holder is fabulous with very detailed angels on either side of an oval cartouche. It does not have a monogram. The handle depicts a stunning lion rampant on both sides. Very majestic. There are flowers and Acanthus leaves beside the angels. There is a flowing bow on top of the cartouche. The workmanship is superb. The cup holder has it all! It if fully hallmarked for Birmingham, England, 1916. The maker's mark is for Alexander Clark Co. Ltd. The sterling cup holder itself weighs 39 grams. It is solid and heavy. The dark burgundy porcelain cup is stamped Coalport on the back. It has gold Art Nouveau swirls on its top.
EXCELLENT CONDITION. There is a small area of light yellow staining right in the corner of the cup. This does not detract at all.
